Context

Wicklow lies immediately south of Dublin, but its mountains, lakes and wooded valleys create a different rhythm. The county holds both commuter settlements and rural communities, with a long relationship between landscape, recreation and heritage.

What to notice

Move from the capital's edge into the valleys and uplands, paying attention to how roads, forests, villages and protected landscapes share the same county.
