Context

Cork is a southern harbour city with its own civic confidence, food culture and creative scene. County Cork reaches from the city and estuary to fishing towns, farms and a deeply indented coastline.

What to notice

Use the city as a base for understanding the south: its markets, galleries and waterways offer a close view of contemporary life before the coast opens out.
